Mist
collectors are effective devices that help in providing clean air and safe
working environment to the employees. Mist is nothing but tiny droplets of
water and air which dampens the surroundings. Not only it is harmful for people
working around, but it also spoils machines and tools. Especially, electronic
machines are highly sensitive to it. When an efficient mist collector is
installed in the premises, there is a significant reduction in the density of
water droplets. Mist Collector India is
a renowned and reputed name for good quality mist collection systems for a
variety of applications.
Mist
collectors: The fundamentals
All
types of mist collectors capture tiny droplets and make large drops that get drained
out so that they don’t harm the machines or operators. In Turning and Milling
operations, the size of droplets is between 2 to 20 microns. In the case of
oil-based coolants, the size is between .5 to10 microns. The mechanism of
removing the droplets from the system varies. When you choose a particular type
of mist collection system, it is important to know the feasibility and
suitability of it.

Electrostatic
precipitation
When
the mist passes through a unit called Ionizer, it gets charged with Positive or
Negative Charge. The condensation unit has grounded plates of high-voltage
charge which attracts the charged droplets and drains them out of the collector
unit. Since there are no filters used, they don’t need recurrent expenses of
replacing filters. However, it is critically important to clean the
electrostatic parts for 100% efficiency. Thus, there are maintenance overheads.
These
filters are preferred by units where mist generation is high. Since there is no
need of replacing filters, electrostatic precipitation gives high throughput in
spite of repeated maintenance requirement.
Inertial
separation
It
is based on the principle of removing the droplets by a strong airstream that
diverts around the collection surface. Since the droplets have the moment of
inertia, they try to remain on the same path and get coalesced with other
particles. Thus, an air stream forms which drains out subsequently. Here also
there is no need for changing filters. However, regular maintenance is required
for keeping the system effective.
Inertial separation is greatly effective when the size of the droplets
is bigger. For droplets less than 2 microns, it doesn’t perform with 100%
efficiency.
Mist
Collector india offers all types of mist collection choices including the
traditional filter-based systems. You need to look at the requirement
specifications first. Incorrect choice leads to productivity loss and
inefficiency of the system. Make sure that the system gives maximum throughput
and value for money so that your work environment is safe from mist generated
hazards.
